Cape Town: In A Different Light.

Admittedly, Cape Town wasn’t my first choice for a study abroad program. But the opportunity presented itself for me to do something where the path was not laid out for me, and I said “yes” because that is why I came to Stern. I spent the next three months weeding through logistics, performing class schedule gymnastics, bugging the administration, and reminding myself that nothing worth having isn’t worth fighting for. By September, I was on the plane to Cape Town with my extremely supportive family to attend The University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB). By November, my heart was in Cape Town. …

The 2022 Cannes Film Festival Experience with Stern

In May of this year, 25 Stern MBA students, including myself, attended the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival as part of the “Craft and Commerce of Cinema” course in the stunning French Riviera. I got my yuan, handed the driver my photo of the Crowne Plaza, and prayed that I was headed to the right place.…

Upon arrival to the Art’otel, our gorgeous, Danube River facing hotel in Budapest, we soon learned that one of the best restaurants in the city was half a block away.  Indulging in these traditional and local fish stews was an amazing way to kick off our week in Budapest and set the tone for the rest of our trip.

The night before classes started we took a bus tour of the city where we quickly learned that Budapest is actually two cities, Buda and Pest, split by the Danube River.  We ended our tour on the Buda side at the spectacular Buda Castle. …
