Where did you first meet and how did it happen?

We first met in Tisch 201 during an Alpha Kappa Psi pledge event. I was a current member and Marissa was in the process of joining Alpha Kappa Psi. I introduced myself to Marissa, and we started chatting. We became quick friends, but it was months before we started dating.

What was your favorite date spot/date story in New York?

On our first date, I planned to take Marissa to dinner and to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center, to take in the amazing views of NYC. When we got to Rockefeller Center, we were informed that there was zero visibility because of the rainy weather. Since I had already purchased the tickets, we were able to trade them in for another date (securing a second date before the first one had even started).

Luckily dinner plans went much smoother, and we were able to have a great evening together.

Do you have a favorite memory of Stern as a couple?

One of our best memories at Stern is actually getting engaged! I proposed to Marissa on an early August morning on Gould Plaza. We went back to the place where it all began to start the next part of our lives.

What are you both up to today, both personally and professionally?

Currently, we still live in NYC, both having stayed after graduation. I currently work as a Digital Strategist at MMC, a marketing company, and Marissa works in Digital Product Management at American Express. In our free time, we enjoy exploring the city, traveling abroad, and spending time with family and friends.

Where did you first meet and how did it happen?

Elliot and I have many mutual friends, but somehow our paths never crossed. When I began at Stern in the fall of 2011, a handful of those friends mentioned that I should meet Elliot as he was finishing up the program and could probably give me some good insight on what my journey at Stern would look like. We finally met on December 23, 2011, one day before Elliot was leaving for DBi Australia and then some extended travel for 3 months. From the short conversation we had that night, we ended up emailing the entire time he was gone and he promised me help with my finance class when he returned in March. The rest is history. On August 11, 2014, a picture perfect summer day, we got married.

What was your favorite date spot/date story in New York?

The first time Elliot and I went out after he returned to New York after his travels in March 2012, we met up at Beer Blast and then went for drinks at B Bar. During the conversation, I mentioned that my father was a caterer. It turned out that he had catered Elliot’s bar mitzvah over 15 years earlier! We eventually watched his bar mitzvah video and my father is in it, helping him light his candles. I guess you can say it was fate!

Do you have a favorite memory of Stern as a couple?

Elliot was finishing up his time at Stern as I was beginning, so our class schedule never really overlapped. Elliot missed being in school so much after he graduated, that he would occasionally sneak into my classes and sit through the lectures. He would raise his hand to answer questions and I was always terrified the professor would realize he didn’t belong in the class and kick him out!

What are you both up to today, both personally and professionally?

I work at Carat, a global media agency, as a director on the integrated planning team for Mondelez. Elliot works at Merrill Lynch in the private equity group in an origination capacity.

We currently live on the Upper West Side with our adorable puppy Rockly, who is named after The Rockleigh, the venue where we got married.

Where did you first meet and how did it happen?

We first met at the NYU Stern Charity Ball in November 2007 at Tavern on the Green. I was a +1 for my sister (Maria Krainova, MBA ’10) who was attending Stern at that time with George. We ended up sitting next to each other at the same table that night. After some “networking,” we took to the dance floor and danced the night away. I didn’t give away my phone number that night but George persisted for over a year, hoping to catch me at the next Stern event with my sister, which he eventually did.

What was your favorite date spot/date story in New York?

On our first date, we went to Raoul’s in SoHo. For our appetizer, we ordered the risotto with escargot. After a few delicious bites, George asked, “I didn’t realize you like snails,” in which I replied, “No, I don’t like snails at all,” as I took a bite again of the risotto. George remained silent and didn’t tell me what I was really eating until about a year later. We go back to Raoul’s every November to celebrate our first date.

Do you have a favorite memory of Stern as a couple?

After George’s graduation, we have made sure to attend every Alumni Holiday Celebration. NYU puts a great party together, usually at a local NY museum. Each year brings more memories and we thoroughly enjoy going to that event.

What are you both up to today, both personally and professionally?

We got married in September 2014 and currently reside in Astoria, Queens. George is a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting. I am a current student at Stern, expected to graduate in May 2016, and I am also currently working at Credit Suisse.

Where did you first meet and how did it happen?

We met and became friends on my 3rd consecutive Stern EMA Trek, this one to Brazil in March of 2010. Scott was a last minute addition to the trip–he got one of the last spots after the waiting list opened! Our friends Bryan and Rachel Cochie (MBA ’12) also met on that trip and, in July of 2010, they set us up. Scott and I have been dating ever since.

What was your favorite date spot/date story in New York?

Our first unofficial date after the Brazil trip was at a Stern Happy Hour! Besides that, we love exploring all the city has to offer: running New York Road Runners races, visiting craft beer and wine venues, playing trivia, seeing comedy shows, dancing and binge watching TV shows. We are also constantly planning our next vacation.

Do you have a favorite memory of Stern as a couple?

We love traveling the world. Our journey together started in Rio and we loved spending two weeks together abroad for DBi Beijing. Scott proposed on our trip last fall to Croatia.

What are you both up to today, both personally and professionally?

Scott works for Mylan Pharmaceuticals as a Project Manager for Japan and ANZ Commercial Markets, a job he discovered through Stern’s Career Center for Working Professionals (CCWP) in 2012. I work for the New York Stock Exchange and am a Senior Director, Capital Markets Strategy and Marketing.

We live together in the Financial District and are looking forward to our August 2016 wedding, which will be filled with Stern alumni.

Where did you first meet and how did it happen?

We met in our economics class. After spring break, I came back from Paradise Island and we happened to be on the elevator together. Kevin commented on my tan and my new haircut. Somehow, this started our connection.

What was your favorite date spot/date story in New York?

For our first date we went golfing in Staten Island. My shots always went directly towards the hole and although Kevin’s shots sometimes had more distance, they often went into the woods or astray. When we tallied up the scores, we had the same score at the end, which was amusing to us.

Do you have a favorite memory of Stern as a couple?

We were the best study partners ever. We used to love finding the right location to study in the library and especially the private rooms were great. We both loved our banking professor, Professor Ritter and finance professor, Professor Wubbels.

What are you both up to today, both personally and professionally?

Kevin advises his clients with various investments. He is a registered investment advisor and has clients in 32 states. He loves his work now more than ever. I am an associate broker at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, and do both residential and commercial real estate in both PA and NJ.

Kevin and I have just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2015. We got married a week after we graduated together and had a 5-week honeymoon that was magical. We have a son and a daughter that have added so much to our lives. We are very close and enjoy being together.

From Kevin: We have truly had a wonderful partnership over the years. First meeting and studying together at Stern. NYU was the beginning for us and we have enjoyed much love and happiness and consider ourselves very fortunate.

Where did you first meet and how did it happen?

We first met during summer of 1993 as Stern Orientation Leaders. I also worked for the Stern Undergraduate Dean’s Office, along with one of Jack’s good friends from his Alumni Scholars group, so he became a fixture there and our romance began then. Two years after graduation, we got married.

What was your favorite date spot/date story in New York?

It’s hard to narrow down since there were so many great spots around campus. I was a pretty sheltered person back then, so Jack opened up my horizons by spoiling me with diverse cuisine dinners and treats. I still reminisce about chocolate mud cake, trips to Veniero’s, St. John’s Pizzeria and more.

Do you have a favorite memory of Stern as a couple?

Jack first asked me out in the halls of Stern, so I remember the building fondly. Our favorite memory is from our second Stern Orientation Leaders summer, since we knew each other much better and were closer. We truly enjoyed our college experience, even as commuters. It was so much fun to be together along with our friends, sharing our amazing experiences with the incoming freshmen.

What are you both up to today, both personally and professionally?

We are extremely proud parents of 12-year-old Jeffrey and 5-year-old Jade. Jack is a Senior Financial Analyst at Oliver Wyman, where he has been since graduating from undergrad! I am the CFO of Klingenstein Fields Wealth Advisors.
