In the days and weeks following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, we half-expected the Oppy to have to fall in line with the usual discourse and reflect the “thoughts and prayers” the national stage has entertained for shooting after shooting…after shooting. But, just as Douglas students altered the narrative and called for an end to the broken record, so did our contributors.
In a most striking and extensive display, student government leaders, MBA alumni, undergrads, and members of the Oppy editorial board (five articles in total—five!) leapt at the chance to use these pages as a platform for correcting the narrative on school shootings, gun control legislation, and the role of business in building a better future.
