The Oppy would like to remind you that we have an election coming up on Tuesday, November 8th! Deadlines for registering to vote are fast-approaching. We’ve put together a few highlights from this year’s elections from around the tri-State area. Of course, we encourage you to fully research the candidates and ballot measures that are coming up in your local district.

Remember: Every Vote Counts! (no matter what economists say)

Connecticut: November 1 (online or by mail), November 8 (in person)

Democratic Party: Hillary Clinton
Biography: Hillary Clinton is the former U.S. Secretary of State (’09-’13), Senator from New York (’01-’09) and First Lady of the United States (’93-’01). She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and J.D. from Yale University.

Green Party: Jill Stein
Jill Stein is an instructor, political activist, and former physician. She holds a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School.

Libertarian Party: Gary Johnson
Gary Johnson is the former Republican Governor of New Mexico (1995-2003). Gary Johnson holds a B.S. from University of New Mexico.

Republican Party: Donald Trump
Biography: Donald Trump is a New York businessman and real estate investor. Donald Trump holds a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School).

Democratic Party: Richard Blumenthal (incumbent) Richard Blumenthal is the a current Senator (2011-present) and State Senator (1987-1991). Richard Blumenthal holds an A.B. from Harvard College and J.D. from Yale University.

Republican Party: August Wolf

August Wolf is a businessman and former athlete. He holds a degree from Princeton University.

Democratic Party: Charles Schumer (incumbent)
Charles “Chuck” Schumer is a current Senator (1999-present) and former Congressman from New York’s 9th District (1981-1999). Charles Schumer has his B.A. and J.D. from Harvard University.

Republican Party: Wendy Long
Wendy Long is an attorney and former homeschool teacher. She received her A.B. from Dartmouth College and her J.D. from Northwestern University.
